3 days until Meeechigan

All of the utilities are a go, except I won't have cable and internet for 2 weeks, so I'll have to go somewhere to watch Da Bears and Big Ben. I've been reading up on all of the paperwork I'll have to fill out. I've been drug tested, background checked, and fingerprinted. I have the drive from Dayton to Detroit memorized, I'm ready to go. I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow, probably more reading and some packing. It will probably take 2 days to complete the physical move-in process.

Wednesday is a big hoops night, so here are some thoughts:
Indiana has lost DJ White again, possibly for the rest of the season. They are still a good team without him, but not a great team. And he was missed tonight at Michigan St. Indiana didn't have the size or athleticism to compete with Sparty at the offensive end. Marco Killingsworth had 27 points, but 1 rebound???? How can you only get 1 rebound being the biggest guy on the floor???? Michigan St. exploited Indiana's zone, shooting 59% as their big guns were able to get back on track, Paul Davis specifically with 23 points and 10 boards.

Duke put it on Maryland tonight, giving a clinic on how to play pressure and team man-to-man defense. Maryland shot about 30% from the floor, mainly due to Duke's defense forcing them into poor shot selection. Maryland has a lot of experience and they played pretty good defense, but they have no true point guard, which will make them struggle against good teams. JJ Redick needs to be on the Olympic team, period. He might be the best shooter in all of basketball, including the NBA. Did you see the 35-footer he hit in rhythm tonight while getting fouled?!?!?! "JJ Redick, my oh my!!!!"

As impressive as Kansas's win over Kentucky was, their win tonight at Colorado was just as impressive. It can be tough for young teams to follow a big win with a win in a game like Kansas had tonight. Brandon Rush is a good player. He made the right decision by not going pro.

In a game that should've been televised, Creighton, without their best player Nate Funk, won at Northern Iowa. UNI star Ben Jacobson was held to just 10 shot attempts and 8 points. Any road win in the Valley is a good win, especially without your best player.

And Miami is 4-0 in the MAC after a comfortbale win at home vs. Central Michigan. The Redhawks started the 2nd half with a 20-0 run that covered the first 9 minutes. Miami has taken care of business. The schedule does start to get tougher with a road trip to Toledo this weekend.

In what will amount to two elimination games for an NCAA berth most likely, LSU won at Arkansas and Nebraska followed up their upset win over Oklahoma with a win at improved Kansas St. Another good win was Villanova's win at Rutgers. I know what you're saying, c'mon, Rutgers??? Ask any Big East coach, Rutgers is a tough place to play, especially coming off your first loss of the year.

In what really amounts to good news for me, everyone seems to be pulling out of the Australian Open. At the rate they're pulling out, I could enter and have a good chance to win a couple of matches.

Again, thanks to everyone for all of their good wishes, they are all extremely appreciated.
